Lauren Stephenson, M. Ed.
Early Childhood Coordinator
Pre-K/Preschool BRIDGE Program

My name is Lauren Stephenson. I am the Early Childhood Coordinator for Dawson County Schools. I am the Pre-K Director for our 4 GA Pre-K classes, as well as the Preschool Facilitator for the Preschool BRIDGE program. The BRIDGE program identifies, screens, evaluates, qualifies, and serves preschool-aged students with developmental delays and/or various disabilities. My background is in special education; prior to this job, I taught special education at RVES for 7 years.  I love working with exceptional children because really, we are ALL exceptional, ALL unique, and ALL important. Each child deserves a chance to show what they know and can do, and to learn anything they can.

All About Mrs. Stephenson

I was born in Texas but have lived in Georgia since elementary school. I have a mom and dad who live in North Carolina, and a brother and sister-in-law who live in Tennessee.

I am married to Matt Stephenson. We met in high school and got married after finishing college. We have a lot of shared interests, including hiking, camping, DIY projects, and playing music together. We play in a band and enjoy playing venues around Dahlonega. I play bass guitar and sing background vocals.

I have one son, Jude, and one dog, Harper. They are best friends and keep me busy but I can't imagine life without them. Jude is a rockstar and will join the band one day!

My family loves to TRAVEL! I feel alive when I am exploring a new place, or visiting a familiar place with new people. I have been to Honduras, China, Grand Bahama, New Zealand, and Ireland. I wonder where we will travel next?
