Welcome to Riverview Elementary School!  My name is Tasha Hamil, and I am the very proud Principal here at Riverview. My family and I call Riverview "Home" and have for several years!  It's a wonderful school with a family atmosphere.  We are proud of our SPARK and culture.

I am from Dawson County.  I love this community.  I decided to become a teacher at a young age and began my studies to become one when I graduated from Dawson County High School. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Early Childhood and Special Education from North Georgia College and State University.  I obtained a Master of Education degree from North Georgia College and State University. I also hold an Educational Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Curriculum and Instruction.  I hold Leadership certification and several endorsements including Reading, Math, Gifted, and ESOL.

My husband is also in education in Dawson County.  Our oldest son graduated salutatorian of his graduating class of 2022 and graduated a triple-major degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Geography at the University of Georgia.  He is now a Florida State graduate student. Our other four children attend school in Dawson County at almost every level. They are very involved in sports such as cross country and track, band, and academics. 

I am involved in many things; however, my passion is working with teachers, students, and families to help students succeed academically. My daily interaction with students, parents, and colleagues – reminds me that Dawson County is a special, meaningful, and unique place to work.  Our school system holds the same morals and values which guide my daily life as an administrator and person.
